Hello ^_^ I'm the event organiser. I also run the retro store “Geek Inventory” and wear the editor / publisher hat for The Retro Magazine. I haven't slept in three weeks and I'm held together by Fanta & Marmite. I love gaming, movies, people, and bringing businesses together. Bring snacks. I can trade Pokémon cards or emotional support.
These events wouldn't exist without her ~ from the very first late-night brainstorms to the 4am planning spirals ^_^ she's supported every step. She's got an eye for detail; basically everything here has her stamp on it. Kirby is among her favourite characters and wow…she also likes Fanta and all the foods I like! Its almost as if she didn't write this and this is just a ploy to get more free food! Magical!
We started about ten years ago with Game Boys ~ yep, selling them to mates. Ashika saw the buzz and said, “Why not sell them online?” That idea turned our garage into a stockroom-slash-hangout. Before long we were dreaming up epic retro events for everyone.
Lockdown hit: toilet-paper lore, grocery queues, events cancelled, and the garage bursting at the seams. We needed space ~ so we built a room ... out of a garden shed. What began as a DIY hangout turned into Retro Event HQ :: memories, laughter, and plans for what's next.
We love the retro era ~ the movies, games, and toys were peak culture. We wanted a show where today's kids can feel why it ruled, and maybe carry the torch. Thank you for reading ~ you're part of the retro family now. Let's keep building something great together ... and make it more better.
